Online Teaching Practicum: Round 3 – Update

Empowering Future English Teachers

We’re excited to announce that round 3 is officially our biggest practicum round yet! This round marks a significant milestone in our journey, as it’s our most extensive practicum to date.

Over the course of 10 weeks, our TESOL graduates are taking the helm as English language instructors for more than 700 students spread across 26 centers in 11 diverse countries.

The impact and enthusiasm generated by this program are truly remarkable! We’d like to thank all of the teachers, the team on the ground at each school, and everybody at Global Virtual School.

What is a practicum?

A teaching practicum is a practical training experience where individuals, often aspiring educators, apply their theoretical knowledge of teaching in a real classroom or educational setting. During this supervised period, participants have the opportunity to plan and deliver lessons, interact with students, and gain practical teaching skills under the guidance of experienced mentors or instructors.

Our online English teaching practicum allows teachers to do all of this from their home by using a webcam.

Who are the students?

Our teachers are currently holding lessons for students in a large number of countries around the world. These students are generally in underserved regions which have limited access to certified English language teachers.

When is the next round?

Round 3 is in full swing at the moment, but we’re already starting our preparations for the next round.

Applications for round 4 will open in December.

We’ll send out notifications when the applications open up, so make sure to stay subscribed to our newsletter or follow our Facebook/Instagram for updates.

What are the requirements?

To qualify for our free 20-hour Teaching Practicum, you need to have completed our 120-hour TESOL/TEFL course at World TESOL Academy, you’ll need a webcam and stable internet connection, and you’ll need to be able to commit to completing 20 hours of teaching practice.

If you’ve yet to earn your 120-hour TESOL/TEFL certificate, there’s no need to worry. There’s still time to complete your course before the next round opens.
