About the position
Location: Online
Contract length: 12 months (renewal available).
Class schedule: Teachers can select the classes based on their available schedules.
Duties:
- Before Class: Preview the materials and instructions provided by us at least 24 hours before your class begins.
- After Class: Provide teacher feedback in the required form within a timely manner.
All of Protostar’s lessons are developed based on US Common Core standards. Their unique PLOT pedagogy creates a fully immersed English environment. This technique helps to build up a child’s confidence in English communication through continuous accumulation of Effective Exposure Time (EET) while also strengthening their independent thinking and teamwork skills.
Protostar’s rigorous English curriculum starts with phonics and gradually develops a child’s reading and writing skills. They also embed STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) elements into their teaching content.

Requirements
To qualify as a Protostar teacher you should meet the following requirements:
- Native English speaker.
- Minimum one-year in-class teaching experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or above
- A certificate in TEFL/TESOL
- Online ESL teaching experience is preferred.
Technical requirements:
- Computer: Windows/Mac desktop or laptop, with Windows 7 or later/Mac OS X10.9 and later
- Camera: HD external/internal Camera
- Headset: Headset in good condition with a microphone (Apple’s own headset device is not recommended)
- Processor: Intel Core i3 4th generation above
- RAM: At least 2GB
- Internet Connection: Minimum 20 Mbps
How to apply
You need 3 steps to become a Protostar teacher:

- If you pass the resume screening, you will be invited to complete a 40-minute interview with a 10-minute teaching demonstration.
