About the position
The followings are general conditions that most teachers are working under:
- Period of Contract: 1 year (E-2 VISA holder can stay in Korea for a year. This is renewable.)
- Working days: Monday to Friday (or Saturday)
- Class size: 10-15persons/class.
- Teaching hours: 120 hours per month
Benefits
The followings are general benefits that most teachers receive:
- Salary: 1.8~2.3 million won/per month (depending on your position and experience).
- Overtime pay: 15,000 – 22,000won /hour
- Severance pay: Equal to one monthly salary
- Accommodations: Shared or private accommodations (free and furnished).
- Medical care: Generally half provided (rate: 2% from your salary).
- Vacation: 10 days paid vacation
- Low tax rate: Depending on your salary
Requirements
To apply for teaching positions through EnglishWork, you need to meet the following requirements:
- Be a Native Level English Speaker – UK, USA, Canada, Ireland, NZ, Australia, South Africa (visa requirement set by the South Korean government).
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher (original diploma) – English and Education majors, or those with TESOL certificates are preferred but any major is OK.
*Two or Three-year college graduates (AA/AS degree holders) are not allowed to get the work visa, even if you have a Tesol certificate.
- No Criminal Record.
- Mentally and Physically healthy.
- No Teaching Experience required.
The following documents must be prepared:
- A copy of your degree with an apostille.
- An original Criminal Record check with an apostille.
