Education First – Part-time ESL Teacher in South Africa

Their International Language Campus in Cape Town, South Africa provides language classes, accommodation, and activities to students from all over the world. They are currently looking for ESL teachers who are interested in teaching part-time at their language campus.

About the position

Location: South Africa – Cape Town

Job type: On-site teaching

Scope: Part-time

Responsibilities:

  • Teach scheduled contact hours as requested by the academic office
  • Provide high-quality classes using our blended learning program
  • Prepare materials and resources relevant to your classes, including a comprehensive syllabus for special interest classes, handouts, quizzes, tests, and assignments as needed for each course
  • Complete all required administration to a high standard and in a timely manner
  • Help students with queries they may have and communicate this with the appropriate department
  • Actively participate in teacher meetings and all staff development activities
  • Actively participate in any required observations and feedback sessions, training, development meetings, and informational meetings
  • Develop and use supplementary material within EF guidelines to support learning needs and objectives
  • Liaise, support, and collaborate with all staff tasked with providing study feedback and support to students

Administrative assistant:

  • Assist the Academic office and other campus departments with daily tasks
  • Assist with school administration in running the school in an effective method
  • Help maintain databases relating to students and academic performance
  • Assist various departments in conducting cultural events, sports games and activities
  • Assist teachers and staff in providing stimulative learning experiences to students
  • Assist with weekly graduation evaluations and ad hoc duties

If you are new to EF, you will typically start as an hourly paid teacher, seasonally or year-round, part-time or full-time. Their Academic team will support you and provide feedback and training to make sure you will quickly feel at ease with your new work environment and the EF learning methodology. Requirements

Qualification requirements:

  • Matric certificate
  • 120-Hour TEFL Certificate with 1-3 years of teaching experience
