Accent Advisor – Online ESL Teacher

Accent Advisor is the leading online American accent training and pronunciation school in the United States. They are currently looking for qualified online ESL teachers.

About the position

Location: Online

Schedule: Flexible – There is currently no minimum or no cap of hours, however, realistically you could work 15-30 hours a week.

Students: Adult students living in the US and around the world. Their students are fluent in English and simply want to reduce their foreign or regional accents.

Classes: One-on-one lessons – 25 min per session.

Coaches work completely online using Skype for the classes and can work from anywhere. Onboarding is simple, including training videos on how to teach the classes and how to use their Dashboard.

Accent Advisor has created their own curriculum that is comprehensive and flexible with continued additions and updates to ensure access to the best quality of materials. Coaches enjoy rewarding and fun classes with eager and enthusiastic students!

• Guaranteed rate increase by $1/hour every 500 teaching hours, until it reaches $25/hour.
• Get fully paid for student no-shows and late cancellations.
• You choose your own hours. Your schedule remains the same every week.
• Classes are 24×7. Peak time is US daytime ( 7 am till midnight US Eastern Time).
• Unlike most other schools, there are no penalties for being late, taking time off, last-minute cancellations, technical difficulties, etc. They trust their teachers to provide the best service possible.

Requirements

• Must be a North American (USA/Canada) native speaker
• Ability to teach the standard American accent and have clear speech without a strong regional accent.
• At least two years of Accent, ESL or Pronunciation teaching experience
• At least one of the following:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics/English
  • TEFL/TESOL/CELTA certificate
  • Vocal-related degree/certification
• Must be able to utilize Skype Video Calls and have a stable internet connection with a minimum upload speed of 5 Mbps.
• Must use a computer or tablet for the classes.
• Advantage: Ability to mimic and understand the mechanics of foreign accents (Russian, Chinese, Indian, etc…).
