Congratulations! If you are reading this then it probably means that you have completed our 120-hour TESOL/TEFL course and that you are now also the owner of your very own teaching certificate!

Now that you’ve earned it, you’ll want to make sure that employers know you’ve completed your teacher training course through an accredited course provider. This is where LinkedIn can help.

What is LinkedIn and why is it useful?

Maybe it is your first time applying for a job or maybe you’re just looking to change things up and try something new. A great tip that we wish to share with you today is the importance of boosting your online visibility for potential employers. LinkedIn is a popular social media platform for professional networking and job searching. It lets you quickly and easily put together a digital CV/resume which can show off your qualifications and experience. You can then share this with potential employers, and give them a more modern way to learn why you’d be a great candidate for their school.

Aside from functioning just like a digital CV, LinkedIn also has some great search functions too – you can use it to search for jobs vacancies to apply for, and you can search for HR personnel in schools so that you can network with them and see if they have any upcoming vacancies. The English teaching community has a large presence on LinkedIn and it’s a great way to get connected with both employers and fellow teachers. LinkedIn also acts like a database of professionals, letting companies (and schools) search for candidates themselves and invite them to apply for new job openings.  While it might not be the first website that comes to mind when looking for English teaching jobs, it definitely can be useful.

Adding your TESOL/TEFL certificate on LinkedIn

A great way to showcase your qualifications as an English teacher is to add your teaching certificates to LinkedIn. Whether you’re tech-savvy or a complete beginner, worry not! The guide below will show you how to add your TESOL/TEFL certificate, and TEYL certificate, TEOL certificate, and TEAL certificate to LinkedIn, and help you take your next big step towards your next English teaching job!

Step 1 – Click the button below:
Make sure that you have first registered an account on LinkedIn, and then click the button below:

Step 2 – Enter your certificate date:
You can select the “This credential does not expire” option and then add the Month and Year your certificate was issued.

Step 3 – Enter your certificate number:
Under Credential ID, enter your unique certificate number which can be found in the bottom right corner of your TESOL certificate.

Step 4 – Click “Save”:
Finally, click the ‘Save” button. If you have also completed our 60-hour TEYL course then you could click the ‘save and add another’ button, and enter your TEYL details too. The same could be done for any of our other courses too.

After saving your profile, your certifications should now be displayed like this.
