The Brook Hill Alliance — Summer ESL Teacher
The Brook Hill Alliance runs summer English language study and travel programs for international high school students across North America. The programs allow students the opportunity to take English classes and explore the surrounding regions while staying at North American colleges and universities.
They are now looking for more summer ESL teachers.
About the position
Location: Queens, New York — United States
Intended start date: June 18, 2025
Student ages: 14-18
Time Commitment: The employment period for EFL Teachers can range from 1 to 8 weeks during the summer, depending on the needs of the campus and employee availability. Most instructors teach for 2-6 weeks.
In the application, there is space to indicate and explain your availability during the summer months. The schedule and hours per week vary depending on the needs of the campus.
Schedule: Classes are Monday-Saturday, on average 4-5 times a week (with some Saturday mornings required). Some weeks may require up to six days of classes. Most lessons are 8:30am-12:15pm, with some additional afternoon classes 1:15pm-5:00pm.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Deliver well-prepared English as a Foreign Language lessons to diverse classrooms of international high school-students in a professional and engaging manner.
- Review the curriculum provided by Brook Hill to adequately prepare for each lesson.
- Practice appropriate classroom management techniques to ensure a safe, comfortable, and engaging learning environment for all students.
- Track students’ attendance on a daily basis.
Benefits
Compensation: Pay scale is determined by campus location and program size. The pay scale for this position is: $20.00-$27.00 per hour.

- Teachers who are proficient at using technology to deliver lessons on Google Slides, but who are creative and quick on their feet to pivot lessons toward students’ interests.

Qualifications and desired skills:
- Authorization to work in the U.S. required
- Must be 18 years or older
- Bachelor’s degree required
