EF English First — Teach English in China

EF English First is part of EF Education First, the largest privately owned English language teaching organization in the world. They have been a notable force in education and development since 1965 with many training centers in major cities in China and Indonesia, along with offices across China, Indonesia, and Switzerland.

EF English First focuses on offering the best language journey for kids, and they are now looking for more English teachers for their centers across China.

About the position

Location: English First’s training centers throughout China

Teaching schedule: Your working week is usually five days, with two consecutive days off. Your weekend days will not be Saturday and Sunday, as you might be used to, but two weekdays which is standard in the industry.

Students: If you teach kids and teens, you can expect to teach up to 20 hours per week. These 20 hours will be spent in class teaching, and you will spend the rest of your time in school lesson planning, providing student feedback and sometimes helping students.

Requirements

Don’t have any teaching experience? You don’t need any, even though it’s always welcome. You will, however, need the highlighted requirements in order for the government to issue you a teaching work visa.

• A Bachelor’s Degree
• A clear background check
• Ability to live abroad for at least one year
• A TEFL, TESOL Certification
• Passport holder from: USA, UK, Ireland, Canada, South Africa, Australia, or New Zealand (due to local visa regulations).
